How do we raise money for our organization?

Year after year, the major search engines generate billions in revenue from advertisers. MySource has created a method that directs some of those funds to schools and non-profits. When your supporters use your group’s custom fundraising webpage, their searches and purchases generate dollars. The more they use it, the more you earn!

Fifty percent of the revenue generated by your site is shared with your group. With trusted retailers and search results generated by Google, we ensure great prices and trusted web sources from the world’s number one search engine.

How much can your group earn?

Even though your fundraiser’s success is wholly dependent on how well you market and advertise your webpage to your supporters, we do know some basic averages. According to Google, the average search per user generates about 1 cent per search. That may not sound like a lot, but taking into consideration that the average person performs 2 searches per day, the numbers quickly add up, for example:

1000 supporters x 2 searches per day = 2,000 searches per day, that’s 60,000 searches per month!

At a penny per search, that averages out to $600 per month!

The money comes from advertisers that pay to have their results and ads appear on search results pages. So instead of your supporters reaching into their own pockets, we direct some of those advertising dollars back to your group!

Your group can also earn by having your supporters shopping at some of their favorite retailers online. The average internet consumer will purchase $500 in products through a year. The commission earned from our various merchants is 2-4%. Using the same example of 1000 supporters, and using a 3% average commission, that’s $15,000 in annual revenue generated. 

Do all purchases and searches qualify?

Most of your purchases at our various retailers will qualify for donations, but there are some restrictions that may exist such as gift cards. The rules are left up to the individual retailers. If you would like a copy of a retailer’s policies please contact us and we will be glad to send you a copy for your records.

Is tracking available?

Tracking is available, with reports issued on a weekly basis. Your totals can also be displayed and updated on your website at the request of the lead contact for you group.

Is my group eligible?

You group is eligible to participate in a MySource Fundraiser as long as it is a registered non-profit. Groups such as schools, churches, some political groups, fraternal organizations, hospitals, and more are eligible to participate. To participate your group must apply by contacting the company or your local Fundraiser Agent. Upon verifying your group’s legitimate non-profit status and being reviewed by MySource, your group’s lead contact will be notified.

When will MySource issue a check to my group?

MySource issues checks to groups on a quarterly basis to any participating group that accrues at least $20 in their account with us. In the event that a group does not meet the $20 minimum established by MySource, their existing balance will roll over to the following quarter. At the end of the year if that group still has not met the minimum amount required, that amount will be forfieted to a pre-established charity of MySource’s choice. In no circumstance will MySource issue a check for any balance less than $20.
